About True North Designs
True North Designs is an independent architectural design studio founded by Ben Knights, providing residential design, planning and technical drawing services throughout the Scottish Borders and across the UK.
Based in Peebles, the practice works with homeowners, property developers and commercial clients on projects ranging from home extensions, conversions and internal alterations to new-build homes and more complex planning-led developments.
Every project begins by understanding the property, the site and what the client wants to achieve. The aim is not simply to add more space, but to create well-planned, practical and attractive places that improve how people live and add lasting value to their property.

Whether working through a home visit or remotely using digital surveys, video meetings and online design reviews, communication remains straightforward and collaborative throughout.

Ben holds a Master of Architecture and has more than a decade of professional experience working within established architectural practices across the UK.
This experience includes residential, commercial and large-scale projects, providing a strong understanding of architectural design, planning policy, construction and the practical coordination required to move a project forward.
True North Designs was established to offer clients a more personal and accessible alternative to a traditional architectural practice. You will deal directly with Ben throughout the project, ensuring clear communication, consistent advice and focused attention from the initial conversation through to completion of the agreed services.
